The Campbells Creek woman has not been seen since 2006.

CHARLESTON — It seemed to be a typical day for Melanie Metheny of Campbell’s Creek.

On July 19, 2006 investigators say she dropped off her children at day care. She was going to pick up transcripts to start college but never did, nor did she pick up her kids. Her van was found a few days later, but there was no sign of Melanie.

“We know she made two outgoing calls from her cell phone. One was voice mail. One hit the western part of Kanawha County and the eastern part of a Putnam County tower,” says Detective Samantha Ferrell of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department.
